Spay/Neuter – When Should I Spay or Neuter My Pet?
Ideally, spaying/neutering of your pet should be done when they are between 4 and 6 months old. This gives them enough time to grow and become a member of the family yet is soon enough that females haven’t experienced their first heat and males haven’t begun showing any behavioral issues. Spaying or neutering your pet will help them live a longer, healthier life, help control the number of unwanted pets, and reduce headaches for you as well. If you have an older pet, we may recommend pre-surgical blood tests to make sure all major organs are functioning properly before scheduling surgery.
