Our Veterinary Team

stacy

Stacy O’Quinn, DVM

Veterinarian

Team member since: July 2000
Education: North Georgia College, University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine

Dr. Stacy O’Quinn has called the Lowcountry home since 2000, when she co-founded Riverwalk Animal Hospital with her then-business partner, Sybil. Over the years, the hospital has grown with the community, and her love for the work has never wavered. Her son, Austin, now a pilot, introduced her and her husband, Shannon, to aviation, leading to a new family passion.

“It’s a cliché, but my work team is my second family. I love them all. I also love my patients and my clients. They say you never work a day if you love your work. I disagree – I work hard! But I truly love my work. Treating my patients with the same care I would treat my own pets. I find incorporating the whole team into management makes that part of the job equally fulfilling. I can’t wait to see what the next 20 years bring!”

Joshua Mitchum, DVM

Veterinarian

Whether it’s golfing in the spring, spending time on the river with his family in the summer, or cheering on the Clemson Tigers during football season, he embraces life fully. He shares his home with his wife, ambulatory large animal veterinarian Emily, their children Charlie and Katie, and an ever-growing menagerie that includes dogs, cats, horses, and a pony.

“I have always known, even in kindergarten, that I wanted to spend my life caring for animals. One of the greatest feelings is when I am able to help a sick or injured animal get well. I understand how important the bond is between doctor, client, and patient. This relationship is something to be cherished. Seeing people and their pets grow and change before my eyes is a very rewarding experience. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with so many wonderful clients and patients.”
